This database and website are maintained as a project of the Getches-Wilkinson Center for Natural Resources, Energy, and the Environment at the University of Colorado Law School. The website includes data about best management practices and the law and policy tab has references to relevant local laws.

This website has a list of "cities and municipalities that have effected bans on Hydraulic Fracturing (fracking) and or oil drilling." The list is organized by categories: rights based ordinances, zoning law/land use changes, direct bans, perpetual moratorium, temporary moratorium.

Food and Water watch has extensive resources about fracking including their Fracking Action Center. This link leads to a list of municipalities (organized by state) that have taken some action against fracking.

Fracktracker maps include information about local bans and moratoria. See map of NY for example.

This blog, edited by Liz Rosenbaum, includes lists of municipalities which have taken action to ban fracking and links to relevant materials concerning those actions.

Citizen Shale is an environmental advocacy group focused on the issues of hydrofracking in Maryland.
