Fracking in Virginia is located in the southwestern part of the state where the Marcellus Shale intersects the state. Virginia, like other states, requires the disclosure of chemicals used in fracking fluid; although, companies can file for a trade secret exemption.

The Virginia Department of mines, Minerals, and Energy Division of Gas and Oil is responsible for overseeing fracking in the state.
