Fracking is generally concentrated in the Uinta Basin in the northeast portion of the state. Like many other states, Utah does require the disclosure of chemicals in fracking fluid, although there is an exemption for trade secrets.
The Utah Division of Oil, Gas, and Mining within the Department of natural Resources is responsible for overseeing fracking in the state.
