Introduction to Comprehensive Plans

Most states require that local governements adopt comprehensive plans (sometimes known as master plans). Some states have requirements that these plans be updated on a regular basis, and other states do not.  This tab includes information on local comprehensive (master) plans, with a focus on updating these plans, including planning for sustainable economic development.
