Increasingly, countries are making statues and cases available to the public via the Internet. There are several strategies for finding relevant primary materials in translation:
Lexis.com and WestlawNext have limited availablity of foreign domestic legal materials. Some government and non-profit organizations are making foreign domestic law freely available online. The best approach is often to use a combination of resources. For example, if you were researching Australian law, you could search Australian cases on Lexis.com or WestlawNext, but you would have to use another source, such as AustLII (The Australasian Legal Institute) to find relevant statutes.
The American Series of Foreign Penal Codes are English language translations of foreign criminal codes and crimainal procedure codes. In the library catalog you can view a complete list of all of the publications in this series.
